First blog post

This I hope will be the first of many blog posts that I write. I will do my best to write at least once a month and use this as a platform to talk about things I've been doing, what I think of certain current events etc.
For this introductory piece I will keep things brief. It has been exactly a month since I graduated from college along with thousands of fellow Scarlet Knights from Rutgers. I must admit commencement was a grand setting for us undergraduates. The magnitude of the ceremonies was only amplified by the presence of President Obama who gave a speech I will remember for a long time to come.
After the ceremonial turning of the tassel from right to left signifying our graduation from the Banks of the Old Raritan and as I tossed my hat up in the air I began to fully understand bits and pieces of what the school has meant to me, the people I've met here, and of course my family's support without which these 4 years wouldn't have been as fruitful as they have turned out to be.
There can be no doubt that the transition from college to adult life is a difficult one for most of us but one must always remember, life has unique challenges for all of us and perseverance and sincerity of spirit is what will ultimately help us stand out in an increasingly interconnected and small planet.
I conclude this piece with a picture of me ringing the Rutgers ceremonial bell which the school placed in the Old Queens lawn during the senior reception. As a piece of advice for all the underclassmen if any at Rutgers reading this post, make sure to go to the senior reception during senior days, it was a fine experience which I highly recommend! Memorize the alma mater before you go there!
